This summer, Antoine and Robby of Shoestring Trio invite Yure for a unique collaboration at the crossroads of the 3 different territories from which they come:
Europe, North America, and South America.
For 6 years Shoestring Trio has been travelling between Los Angeles and the South of France and they are now back on tour to enrich the French minds and ears. They have a distinctive musical language of their own: a mixture of compositions and covers as diverse as adored by their fans, performed with energy and passion reaching straight to the heart.
Brazilian music has always influenced Shoestring Trio, as much by its sensitivity as by the stylistic inspiration. After several trips to Brazil, guitarist Antoine Salem began to use the framework of samba, bossa nova and choro rhythms as inspiration for the group. The enthusiasm for this music is also shared by saxophonist / clarinettist Robby Marshall who continues to seek ways to mix Brazilian music with his rich musical background.
It was on the Parisian music scene that Robby Marshall met Yure Romão, a Brazilian guitarist, singer and composer, born in Rio de Janeiro and immersed from a young age in traditional Brazilian music including Afro-Brazilian rhythms. Together they have launched a new project of Brazilian songs which has resulted in recordings and concerts, with full support from the Paris City Hall.
